New Delhi : India lost a lot in the first match of the T20 series being played between India and England. India's defeat included a brisk 49-run innings of English batting which was not bought by anyone in this year's Indian Premier League auction. English opener Jason Roy, who presented the batting bat in the first match after playing in India after the auction.
India batted first after losing the toss in the first T20 match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. England stopped India for just 124 runs on the basis of excellent bowling. Shreyas Iyer scored 67 runs, playing the biggest innings of T20 career. England achieved the target of 125 runs in 15.3 overs.

Jason Roy, who started the innings against India, came up with quick shots. He shared a 50-run partnership off just 36 balls with Jos Buttler. Butler was dismissed for 28 but Jason continued to bat from the other end. 4 fours and 3 sixes off 32 balls were dismissed after playing 49 innings. During this, he had reached England's score of 89 runs.
