Shahid Afridi extended a helping hand in the battle of COVID-19, bought Rahim's bat for 20 thousand dollars

Dhaka, IANS : Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has made his small contribution in raising funds to tackle the Covid 19 epidemic. He has bought the bat of Bangladeshi wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim put up for auction. The former all-rounder has helped to tackle this epidemic by playing this bat for 20 thousand dollars.


Last month, Mushfiqur decided to auction his bat with which he scored a double century in the Gaul Test against Sri Lanka in 2013. This was kept for online sales so that their country can get maximum help in this difficult time.

Mushfiqur Rahim told ESPNcricinfo that his bat was bought by the former Pakistani captain. He told, Shahid Afridi has bought my bat on behalf of his foundation. I feel very special and honored that someone like him has joined me in this great work. Mushfiqur said that he had suspended the auction as it was reported that fraudulent bids were made.

On 13 May, he Sent us an offer letter stating that they want to buy my bat put in auction for 20 thousand dollars which according to Bangladesh is 16.8 lakh taka. "

Former Bangladesh captain and wicketkeeper Mushfiqur has also shared a video message on Twitter.  Only real life heroes can do this. We need each other's love and support at this time in our worst phase of life.

Responding to the video of Mushfiqur, Afridi said, "I want to buy your bat from all over Pakistan. Our prayers are with all of you. I hope we will meet again on the cricket ground when all these things are over." . "
