New Delhi : There is a saying on Virat Kohli that fits the feet of Poot. Everyone knows what Virat Kohli is today, but there were some people who knew in their early days that they would do something special in their lives. One of those few is the Indian team's senior spinner Amit Mishra. Speaking to senior sports journalist Vimal Kumar, Amit Mishra revealed how he had recognized Virat's potential.
Amit Mishra referred to the sentence through which he came to know how much ability Virat has and what he can do next. He told that once the ODI match was being played between the cricket team of Haryana and Delhi in Himachal Pradesh. When Virat came to bat, he took one or two overs to understand the ball, but after that he put the best shots on my balls, surprisingly, even the big players are not able to play that way in front of me.
He said that Virat was new when I was an established bowler. The way he was putting the shots was a sign of how mature he is. It was at that time that I told many people that they would become a good cricketer in the coming times.
While narrating the story of that match, Amit Mishra said that during his innings, Virat took many such shots which no new and young player could put against me. His ability to fight on the field during this match was amazing and I liked it the most. I said at the same time that it will play for India soon. They are players who do not hold back from working hard. He is like many veteran cricketers of India like Sachin, Sehwag, MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma who understand his shortcomings and work on it and are trying to eliminate it.
He said that I tried hard to play for the Delhi team, but I did not get a chance, but when I was selected in the Haryana team, I came to call, but I refused.
