Recommendation from DDCA Election Director, BCCI to form ad hoc committee

New Delhi  : Abhishek Tripathi. Suspended Joint Secretary Rajan Manchanda and Directors Alok Mittal, Apoorva Jain, Nitin Gupta, Renu Khanna and Sudhir Aggarwal, who have suspended the other faction for setting up adhoc committees in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), have set up their highest body, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ) Has written a letter to May 23 stating that he is ready to accept any decision, including the formation of the ad hoc committee until the next annual general assembly or election in the state association.

It is to be known that recently DDCA Lokpal Deepak Verma had ordered the election of two directors along with the Chairman and Treasurer. He told DDCA Election Officer and former Election Commissioner Naveen Chawla that if these elections are held after June 30, then the elections of four directors should be held because by then the tenure of two more directors would be over.

Rajan, Alok Mittal, Apoorva, Nitin, Renu and Sudhir wrote to the BCCI that 12 members of the apex council were elected in the general election on July 2, 2018. Apart from this, four nominated directors were also elected. In such a situation, the DDCA has 16 directors. DDCA President Rajat Sharma resigned on 29 November 2019. Elections should be held at the right time.

On 2 February this year, Lokpal Deepak Verma sacked treasurer OP Sharma. His decision is already being questioned. The term of the three nominated directors of the apex council on 19 February has ended. On 29 February, the trial court suspended DDCA vice-president Rakesh Bansal and secretary Vinod Tihara. As such, there are now eight board directors, while one is the designated director of the CAC. The top council currently has nine members.

Members said that the entire matter started with the expenditure being incurred in the legal process at DDCA. The money that should have been spent on the cricketers is being spent on the lawyers and the Lokpal. Till now the Apex Council has not signed any agreement to pay the Lokpal fees. Nor has any consent been made for the expenses of any legal committee. When Bhardwaj was asked about this, he threatened to implicate everyone in the legal process.

On the other hand, a DDCA official said that it is a betrayal of the state association to demand the Adhoc Committee. When Lokpal has announced election, why are these people afraid of him. They are afraid of losing members of their factions in those positions. He wrote everything in the letter but did not say why Rajan Manchanda had been suspended by the Lokpal due to the fight at the last AGM.
