London, ANI : Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal was banned for three years before the Pakistan Super League i.e. PSL 2020 season. In Pakistan cricket, it was not new to match fixing or spot fixing, but the Pakistan Cricket Board had banned Umar Akmal, which was according to the rules. However, now this Pakistani cricketer has filed an appeal against this ban of three years and said that the ban imposed on him should be reduced.
Umar Akmal was banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board, or Disciplinary Panel of PCB, for 3 years from all types of cricket activities due to allegations of corruption. The Cricket Governing Board has confirmed receipt of Akmal's appeal and has decided to constitute a panel of independent adjudicators to hear the matter.
According to the PCB's code, ESPN Cricinfo believes the panel will not conduct de novo (fresh) hearings and will limit itself to "considering whether the appeal of the decision was false. Not to give full details of any approach or invitation received by the participant to engage in corrupt conduct under the Anti-Corruption Code. "
