Babar Azam told why I should not be compared to Virat Kohli

Lahore Pakistan : ODI and T20 team captain and best batsman Babar Azam said that he should not be compared with Indian captain Virat Kohli. He said that we are both different types of batsmen. Babar Azam was recently named captain of the Pakistan ODI team and is currently ranked third in 50–50 overs cricket while Virat Kohli is in first place.


In T20 International cricket, Babar Azam is the number one batsman in the world while KL Rahul is at number two and Virat Kohli is at 10th position. In Test cricket, Virat Kohli is at second place while Babar Azam is at number 5. Steve Smith is at number two in the Test rankings. Although a lot of comparisons are made between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, the 25-year-old batsman said that it is not right to compare the two of us.

Babar Azam said that I should not be compared with Virat. If he is a player of nature and I play the other way. My job is to win the match for my team and I only focus on it and not the comparison. He said these things through local media through video conferencing which was shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board.


When asked about his captaincy method, he said that he will try to control his emotion while leading his team on the field and try to get the best out of his fellow players. He said that during captaincy, you need to be cool during the times of a leader. Many times it happens that you get angry, but at that time you have to control yourself.

He said that on the field you also need to control your aggressive behavior. I will focus on supporting my teammates in the team and will try to increase their confidence. This brilliant batsman of the right-handed world refused to comment on any statement made by Shahid Afridi on the Kashmir case.
