Proposal kept 1-year extension in the tenure of MCC President Kumar Sangakkara

London | Marilbon Cricket Club (MCC) has proposed to extend the tenure of its president Sri Lanka's former cricket captain Kumar Sangakkara by one year. The club's activities have been postponed due to the Covid-19 epidemic. According to an ESPNcricinfo report, votes will be voted on the proposal on June 24 at the AGM.

Sangakkara took over the club's tenure on October 1 last year. With this, he became the first non-British president of the MCC.

At the AGM to be held on 24 June, the club will try to raise funds through the new Life Membership so that the Compton & Ederich stands can be rebuilt.

In England and Wales all activities are postponed until July 1 due to Kovid-19.
