New Delhi : Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden was in the news for his Mongoose in the Indian Premier League. He has revealed that his team Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had forbidden him to play with the bat and offered to ask for whatever he wanted in return.
In 2010, Hayden arrived in the IPL to play Mongoose bat, whose handle was longer than the rest of the bat and the hitting surface was shorter. With this bat Hayden had played a memorable innings of the tournament. He scored 93 off 43 balls against Delhi.
Hayden told a funny story about the bat during a live chat. I was asked a lot of questions for this one thing. From a player's perspective he used to ask how you can play with half a bat. I remember MS Dhoni Had said, I am ready to give you everything you want in life but do not use this bat.
"I told MS, companion, I've been rehearsing in the net with this bat for around one and a half years and let me reveal to you that when this ball appears
to be in this bat, it goes 20 meters more. It's a fact The ball disappears as soon as it hits and they can always play it. "
