New Delhi : Abhishek Tripathi. Rajkumar Manchanda, joint secretary of DDCA, who scrambled the annual general meeting (AGM) of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) in December, was sacked by Lokpal Deepak Verma with immediate effect.
DDCA Lokpal Deepak Verma said during the hearing on Thursday that Manchanda can be seen clearly scrambling in the video. It is against the interests of cricket. No person like him should be associated with cricket. Even though his tenure is still one and a half years old, he is dismissed immediately from his post.
Lokpal said that there are some people here who come after winning elections and do wrong actions. Manchanda is dismissed until 4300 members of the DDCA forgive him. In fact, during the AGM held on 29 December 2019, Manchanda was seen snatching the mike from Secretary Vinod Tihara. Also, he had a scuffle with another DDCA member, Maqsood Karim. After this, the Lokpal ordered an inquiry into the case.
At the same time, Manchanda also sent a mail from Lokpal to a common email id of DDCA. Now the Lokpal has ordered IT manager Sarvpreet Singh to investigate the matter as well. On the other hand, manager Neeraj Sharma also continuously sent mail to Lokpal saying that he did not have the power to do financial investigation. If the head of HR and legal department, PK Banerjee, reconciles, they will be heard.
If Neeraj still works outside his jurisdiction, he will write a letter to the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court and ask for his arrest. The Lokpal will hold the next hearing on May 20 on charges of financial scam involving club and lounge construction at DDCA.
