New Delhi : The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in India next year. Even after failing to get tax exemption for this event, its event is not going to be affected. The BCCI official has expressed confidence that the 2021 T20 World Cup will be held in India only.

According to news from ESPNCricinfo, the ICC had threatened the BCCI that it could shift the tournament to another location on the issue of tax exemption. BCCI treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal has told Reuters that there is no threat to the tournament.

The work is still being done. We are talking to the ICC on this matter and we will sort it out, he said.

The BCCI faced a similar problem in the year 2016 when the World Cup was held. Even then the government refused to give tax exemption. Even after the appeal of the board, nothing was changed in any way from New Delhi.

It is up to us to decide whether we will be able to successfully organize the World Class event and at the same time also make money in cricket. The ICC Board had set a deadline to settle the tax case, for which we have also been given instructions.
