Another bad news for former Pakistani captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, slipped from new contract

The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to bring former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who won the Champions Trophy to the team in 2017, in the new central contract by dropping him from the top-tier 'A' category to 'C'. Players will get a new contract in August.

According to sources, the board has decided against reducing the number of players involved in the central contract or reducing match fees, despite all the cricketing activities around the world due to Corona virus epidemic.

The PCB in August last year excluded players like Muhammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik from the list, while awarding central contracts to only 19 players. In the previous contract, Sarfaraz was placed in the 'A' category along with Babar Azam and Yasir Shah.

Since November, however, the selectors have withdrawn the captaincy from the wicketkeeper batsman and have been dropped from the team of all formats.

In the current contract, A category player gets Rs 7,62,300 Pakistani, B category player gets Rs 6,65,280, C class player gets Rs 5,68,260.
