T20 World Cup postponed with high risk, cricket Australia will suffer big loss

Melbourne, PTI : Cricket Australia has admitted on Friday that this year's T20 World Cup is being postponed with very high risk and the board is suffering huge losses due to this. Speaking to reporters, CA Chief Executive Kevin Roberts has admitted that the future of the proposed T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November this year is in limbo as worldwide visits are banned due to the corona virus epidemic.

Kevin Roberts has said, "We have all been hopeful that it (T20 World Cup) may be held in October-November, but you have to say that there is a lot of risk about the possibility of that happening." However, in the ICC board meeting held on May 28, the decision regarding the T20 World Cup has been reserved till June 10. Roberts said that this would cause Cricket Australia a loss of 80 million Australian dollars.

Even if the T20 World Cup is held under its plan, then matches will be played at the stadium without a spectator, which the Australian Cricket Board knows well. Roberts said that Australia would benefit from the tournament by 50 million Australian dollars even if the matches were held without spectators. He has also said that if a tournament happens, we are ready to provide all kinds of facilities, including bio-secure.

However, the Chief of Cricket Australia has definitely expressed confidence that the Australian team will play a 4-match Test series against India on their soil. The series will begin on December 3 with the Brisbane Test. According to the official report, the Indian team will play four Tests in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne, in addition to Brisbane, with the second Test being a day-night test, played with a pink ball.
