New Delhi : Former Pakistan team's corrupt fast bowler Mohammad Asif has accused the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of not giving him a second chance. Mohammad Asif says that he was neither the first cricketer to have done spot-fixing nor the last player to have done this. In such a situation, his country's cricket board should have treated him better, because the board gave other players a second chance.
Mohammad Asif was convicted in a spot-fixing case in 2010 in Pakistan for his tour of England, as Asif consistently bowled no balls for money. Due to this, Asif was banned for 7 years. Mohammad Asif had to stay in Pakistan jail along with Mohammad Aamir and Salman Butt. Asif said that he should have got a second chance like many other players, which he did not name.
Asif spoke to ESPNcricinfo saying, "Everybody makes mistakes and I did too. The players were involved in fixing before me and even after me, but the ones before me are working with the PCB and the ones after me Some are also playing. Asif played 23 Tests, 38 ODIs and 11 T20 Internationals for Pakistan.
